About Attempting Simplicity

My hope is that Attempting Simplicity will be a place for me to share my experiences with combating sentimentality, my system for "cataloging" sentimental items in a way that takes up much less space, and my attempts at capsule-wardrobing.

I was a hoarder in the making during my early teens and thrift-shopped my way through college, and I'm finally beginning to suffer the consequences. I want more space and would like to trick myself into spending less time organizing things I don't need.

About Me

I have a Bachelor's degree in English and am currently working as a self-employed writer and designer. (My 'thing' is designing book covers for independently-published authors.) I grew up in New Mexico and recently moved to the Bay Area with my awesome husband (Mike) and our ridiculously cuddly pomeranian (Bear). I also enjoy dyeing/refurbishing designer handbags.
